Increasing the production of TNF-Alpha (tumor necrosis factor Alpha)
TNF-Alpha, one of the major cytokines capable of killing tumour cells, is produced by activated macrophages. Avemar increases the activated macrophages' production of TNF-Alpha. TNF-Alpha directly stimulates apoptosis and is capable of inhibiting angiogenesis in tumour cells.
Conclusions: The inhibition of tumour angiogenesis in early cancer phases can contribute to the prevention of metastases - something observed in clinical tests as well.
