One of Avemar's most interesting properties from the perspective of research is tis immunoregulating capability. In malignancies it stimulates the immune system. In autoimmune diseases it is immunosupressive. Avemar is able to act seemingly in opposite directions, because it has different effects on the two main parts of the immune response.

Review 3. - The effects of avemar on the escape/survival strategies of cancer cells
Avemar significantly enhances the apoptosis of cancer cells, thereby causing their death, and, at the same time, has no effect on the life cycle of healthy cells. Significantly enhances the production of ICAM-1 proteins and thereby potentiates the anti-cancer cellular immune response. Avemar can significantly reduce the production of MHC-I proteins in tumor cells, thereby undermining their ability to disguise themselves and making them targets for the NK cells.
